Our Garden Patio is Ready for Summer

THE FARMHOUSE

Our garden patio is done! And I’m pretty sure we’re going to be out here every day until Labor Day…or maybe even Thanksgiving. This garden is basically my dream outdoor space and now that it’s done, I keep pinching myself. Who knew this lovely garden was hidden under that Jumanji-style, overgrown wilderness?!

The paver patio has been the biggest project in our garden, and I got quite a few requests for a DIY on laying the pavers so we’ll share that next month (but you can catch a peek of the construction in the video below). The rest of the garden is about 90% done right now. There are still string lights to hang, irrigation to finish, electrical wire to run, etc, etc. But even at 90% complete, we’re still enjoying the heck out of this space. And that’s in large part due to the patio furniture!

The Patio Furniture

Our lovely teak set came from The Company Store, a brand we love (their sheets haven’t left our bed for more than a few hours since we put them on!). They serendipitously contacted us just as we were beginning this garden and asked if we could promote their patio furniture giveaway and style the collection in our own space. Ummm…yeah we can!

a video tour

Garrett put together a video to show off this space. Some things (like the birds chirping and kids interrupting 🤪) just don’t come across in still photos, you know?! This video also gives a peek into the construction of this simple patio, which was far from simple to build. We hope you enjoy it!

Whew! It’s crazy how much this space has transformed in 4 weeks. And it’s even crazier that I thought it would only take us “one…mayyyyybe two” weeks. Ha! You’d think I’d know better by now. 🙈

Kid tested and approved

For the record, our kids love the furniture. I’m pretty sure the cushions will always be askew, but I’m glad we’re all enjoying this space. The lounger is probably the favorite piece of patio furniture for those 5 and under. I’m sure all three of our kids would camp out on it if we’d let them 🤪
