Happy Friday 3/8/19

Happy Friday! How was your week? Is it snowing where you live, too? Sheesh!

I’m pretty excited for the next couple weeks here on the blog because we'll be sharing some long overdue content from the Dexter House. You can expect a DIY on adding a new cabinet door to an old cabinet, a $1000 bathroom remodel, our experience buying a short sale (spoiler: it was crazy!), our recent Airbnb horror story, and more. These are posts and projects that I’ve been meaning to share for forever now but haven’t for one reason or another. I hope you enjoy them!

Farmhouse Master Bedroom // the Grit and Polish

Garrett and I spent a night in Seattle (before the appliance sale) and I have to admit, I missed our bed. My beloved mattress pad, the soft gossamer blanket, our new linen throw pillows (I couldn’t not bring them home from the Dexter House!)…it’s all just so cozy. I have never loved a bed so much!

Have you ever dreamed of living in a smaller town? Or maybe somewhere warmer? I have to admit, Garrett and I occasionally daydream about a move south (usually in winter) but our small town just feels like home, you know? I loved reading Julia’s and JoAnna’s ideas on the topic this week: Chris Loves Julia and Cup of Jo. Anywhere you’re dreaming of moving?

My friend Emily of the Sweet Beast had a house tour over on Emily Henderson’s blog this week. Her home is old and lovely and full of original wood trim…check it out!

If I happened to be house hunting in Brooklyn and recently won the lottery, this home would be it. That mantle is everything!

This 17th-century English cottage has my heart. Consider Cornwall on my bucket list!

I had a birthday this week and Garrett got me a couple of things that I’ve been wanting: this book (it sounds sooo fascinating!) and this travel mug. Both are coming with me on our road trip!

This kitchen from Jessica Helgerson (one of my favorite designers!) stopped me in my tracks. It’s bright and cozy and so well done! Also, a fireplace in the kitchen would be a dreammmm!

Have a great weekend!
