Happy Friday 3/29/19

Happy Friday! We’re back at home after 3-weeks away and goodness, it’s great to be home. We had a really wonderful trip, but even so, it’s nice to sleep in your own bed, you know?!

We traveled through 6 states on this trip, explored 4 national parks, and spent nights in cabins, tents and hotels. It was a great, family adventure! Zion National Park turned out to be our favorite destination of the trip…actually, it turned out to be one of our favorite destinations ever. It’s hard to describe exactly how special this national park is - the views, the vibe, the shuttle - but we’ll definitely be back. And hopefully in an Airstream of our own. But I’m getting ahead of myself…

Here are a few things I read while on the road…

We Don’t Buy Things with Money, We Buy Them with Hours from our life. Quantifying the actual hours of our lives we exchange for every-day goods. I loved this post!

Emily Henderson knows how to do reclaimed wood in the kitchen!

And speaking of Emily and kitchens, this home that she just styled for her second book is amazing! The kitchen and the pink bedroom have my heart.

A case against Airbnb: “My dad died in an Airbnb rental, and he’s not the only one.“ I should mention that this article is hard to read (at least it was for me). It’s graphic and tragic and makes you second-guess being a landlord in the first place. But it left such a lasting impression that I had to share.

Traveling the world with kids…and loving it. Add in one more kid and this is Garrett’s dream!

I’ve been dreaming about getting this mural for behind Daphne’s headboard (you can see her room here). Her room is totally lovely as is, but I like the idea of something large-scale and fun to stare at when we move her from her crib nook into her big-girl bed. Now I just need to persuade Garrett to skim-coat the wall…

Workism is making Americans Miserable.

I think this mantle (and wood door and sconce…) is perfection!

Have a great weekend!
