Happy Friday 12/13/19

Happy Friday! It’s been a fun week around here! We went up in the woods with friends and picked out a Christmas tree. Our 6-year-old performed in his elementary school holiday concert. It snowed and snowed. And we got to read all of your kind comments and messages on our kitchen reveal. Guys, we are feeling the love. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I guess now I have a kitchen to decorate for Christmas! Who am I kidding…I had those decorations up yesterday 😉

More from the week…

If you’re into old houses and original wood millwork (🙋🏼‍♀️), Alison’s entryway, stairwell, and hallway is not to be missed! (deucecitieshendhouse)

The google searches that trended in 2019. I was surprised by what topped the ‘Home Style’ search…but not disappointed 😉 (google)

I won’t buy my teenager a smart phone. “It occurs to me that this decision not to buy him the one thing that every other kid has might be the most subversive, countercultural gesture of my entire life.” We’re not to this stage yet, but it’s something I think about often. (Atlantic)

Did you catch this month’s home tour? A historic colonial revival in Delaware full of charm and the best thrifted finds. Leigh and Ben’s home has long been a favorite!

We played this matching game with the kids last night and loved it! (amazon)

99 clutter free gift ideas. So many great ideas on here and almost all of them can be done last minute! (becomingminimalist)

I am loving Sarah and Emmett’s living room renovation and cannot wait to see the reveal! Go guys, go! (roomfortuesday)

I was dreaming of a bare Christmas tree like this one this year, but instead we let the kids decorate our’s. Yup, it’s another one for the books 😳 (If you’re new around here, check out our last year’s Christmas tree right here - our 5 year old pruned it and it turned out about how’d you expect.) Hey Garrett, next time we do a shaker peg rail, let’s make it look like this one. (@buildingwalnutfarm)

I listened to this book while photographing our kitchen this week and really enjoyed it! The Pacific Crest Trail is on my bucket list. (amazon)

Have a great weekend!
